Dear Katelyn,
I have a lot of catching up to do because you keep me so busy that at the end of the day I'm too tired to do anything but crawl into bed and call it a day! I wouldn't trade it for the world though. We had a lot of fun this week and like always you were so cute and funny. Last Monday I dropped you foo at Grandma Cowley's house so I could go to work. I was leaving walked to the front door. Grandma was holding you and you reached for my face with your tiny little hands and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I couldn't believe it. It was SO cute! I definitely didn't want to leave for work after that but I finally had to. I went to work and told all my friends there what you did and how cute you are!
Wednesday morning I took you to your six months shots. You were very brave. You only cried for about 30 seconds and then you stopped and were happy and smiley again. Dr Bosworth is your pediatrician and he said you are growing great and are perfect! You weighed 15.4 pounds and measured 26.5 inches long. Right now you are taller than nine out of ten babies. Maybe you will take after your dad. Saturday night we took you to the Taylorsville Dayzz fireworks with your aunt Meredith and Uncle Chris and your cousin James. You were scooting all over the blanket and you and James were having fun together. You loved the fireworks. Your dad was laying down and you were standing on his stomach waving you little arms in the air and laughing and making all sorts of noises. It looked like you were leading the music that was played along with the fireworks. Your dad said he though he enjoyed watching you more than the fireworks! We all had lots of fun. We also found out Meredith is pregnant again so you will have a new little cousin in a few months!

Dear Katelyn,
I decided to keep this journal so that you can know what a special baby you were. You make me laugh every day! I want to write about all the cute things you do. On Tuesday of this week I took you out in the backyard and set you on a blanket. You LOVE being outside and looking at all the exciting things out there. You never hold still because you are such a curious little girl. You crawled off the blanket a little bit and I watched you discover grass for the first time! You had me laughing so hard! You weren't quite sure what to think of it. You would grab some grass and then turn around to me with a disgusted look on your face. You would then turn back to the grass and pat it and grab it and then do the same thing, turn around and look at me with the funniest look on your face. You were moving your lips like you had something really disgusting in your mouth. I really enjoyed watching you.
Tonight you were giving me kisses which consists of you leaning forward and grabbing my cheek with your mouth open and then trying to suck on my cheek. It's so funny! I also gave you a bath. You love baths and always have a big smile on your face. You made me laugh because you were sucking on your feet when I was trying to bathe you. I love being a mom and love you very much! You are such a beautiful girl!

Why I'm doing this
Dear Katelyn,
You are the joy of my life and make me laugh every day. I never want to forget the little bits of heaven I get to experience with you so I want to keep this journal. I started to keep a journal a few months after you were born but I'm not great at sitting down and writing so I decided to keep this online journal because I will be able to keep up with it better. I do want to start with the couple of entries that I recorded in the journal. I could kick myself for not doing this sooner or being better about writing because there is already so much I can't remember. Oh well you're only two right now so we'll start today and try to be better :)
